Samuel Heck The Just Joans are disarmingly unassuming. Behind playfully DIY Jangle-Pop melodies lie tightly constructed chamber pop melodies and counter-melodies. Behind the winkingly self-deprecating lyrics lurks a deep exploration of self-doubt, regret, and vulnerability. Behind the loose interplay of brother-sister vocals is the unguarded intimacy of family, who know you better than you know yourself. This might be a perfect album, and I love everything about it. Favorite track: You Make Me Physically Sick (Let's Start Having Children).
